Maya LOVES water! Swimming in the sea, splashing in her paddling pool. But one summer’s day, she gets sucked up the bathroom tap – SQUOOSH! – and along the water pipes! WHOOAAHHHH!
Arriving in a strange new land, Maya goes on an exciting journey, plunging into rivers, discovering oceans, battling unexpected villains! And you get to join in, making the show’s soundtrack with live beatboxing and watery sound effects! Watch out for the water pistol fight – don’t get squirted!
Gulp! is a moving, magical story dripping with fun, unexpected twists and turns, and watery surprises about how to care for the world and its precious resources.

Gulp! was performed 43 times in 26 places across the UK, including 12 performances in community settings. We started development of the production through a residency at artsdepot, London, and worked with many partners and organisations, including Professor David Hannah, Severn Trent Water, the Environment Agency and ecobirmingham.
